Bobcaygeon Public School, Addition and Renovations

Bobcaygeon, Ontario
Educational

After completing a feasibility study and exploring three different re-development options, the addition to Bobcaygeon Public School replaced the original 1955 building and also thirteen existing portable classrooms. The area of new construction is 22600 S.F. while renovations within the remaining 1969 addition cover area of approximately 7,860 S.F.. New physical education facilities allow  the conversion of the existing general purpose room into a resource & computer centre. The removal of existing portable classrooms provides ample space for a new bus/car drop-off zone, which will substantially improve safety around the school entrance, and also traffic flow through the adjacent residential area. Public use of the building has been considered specifically for athletic facilities, the new computer centre and general public use as the new community focal point of the village of Bobcaygeon.
